Sustainability at the heart.
For us, sustainability isn't just a trendy buzzword or a checkbox to tick off; it's the very core of our everyday life and work.
We totally get how big the challenge is. Our planet and people are facing some serious stuff, and that's why the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are so important. piece of furniture or planning a brand-new school space, we're always asking ourselves how it fits into these bigger goals. How does it help our planet? How does it make life better for people, not just today, but for years and years to come?
These goals, introduced in 2015, aren't just a list of good ideas; they're like a playbook for the whole world to get together and make things better, in a big way. At Kidzink, these SDGs are way more than just a poster on the wall. They're our compass, our roadmap for everything we do. When we're dreaming up the next cool space.
We believe every member of our team has the potential to be a changemaker and a future leader. Our training and development programs are designed with this vision in mind, focusing on personal growth, connecting with communities, and driving sustainable change.
We recognise the unique position we're in to lead by example and spark positive change in society. Leadership for us is about more than just overseeing aspects of our business. It's about actively participating in conversations, inspiring our colleagues, customers, and partners to take meaningful action, and contributing to a broader movement of transformation.
As part of our sustainability initiative, we collaborate with Waste to Wonder Worldwide, a trailblazer in Ethical Clearance Processes for redundant office furniture and equipment. This partnership not only reduces disposal costs for corporate clients but also enhances their Corporate Responsibility and Environmental Social Governance (ESG) efforts.
Kidzink, in collaboration with Taaleem and Waste to Wonder, has successfully redistributed over 11,000 kg of school furniture to schools worldwide, achieving a remarkable 100% reuse rate. Watch the video below to see how we made this incredible impact possible.
During our mission to ship school furniture to new educational centers across the country, we uncovered a significant gap in proper infrastructure in schools within third-world countries. This realization opened our eyes to the urgent need for better resources and environments to support education in these regions. Driven by this discovery, we committed ourselves to developing innovative solutions aimed at making quality education accessible to everyone, regardless of their geographical location. Our dedicated team began crafting sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing educational spaces tailored to the unique challenges faced by schools in underserved areas.
Introducing SustainED
With this mission, we developed an AI driven method to efficiently design and build schools in developing countries, democratizing the school design and build process. Developing not only proprietary and unique Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) algorithms that revolutionize the field of educational architecture. Along with this we have also developed a modular “school in a box” designed for efficient local construction of schools in developing countries. We call these algorithms, SustainED AI by Kidzink and our modular build kit, the SustainED Pack by Kidzink.
The Cookery School in the Gambia
We expanded our existing partnership with Waste to Wonder Worldwide to design and build a sustainable and community cookery school in The Gambia. The Cookery School aims to cultivate skills in Sustainable Cooking, Agriculture, Hospitality, and Tourism among young individuals. This pilot project, led by renowned Chef Conor Spacey and in collaboration with the Global Orphan Empowerment Academy, is designed to equip the community with the tools and skills necessary for sustainable cooking and agriculture, fostering self-reliance and the ability to rise from poverty, generation after generation.
The Inc Initiative
We're committed to tackling the global education crisis. With 258 million children worldwide lacking access to schooling due to poverty, conflict, and inadequate infrastructure, we've launched the Inc Initiative. As experts in creating inspiring learning spaces, we're extending our reach beyond our successful school projects to address this critical issue. Our goal is to provide safe, clean, and welcoming learning environments for children in need, breaking the cycle of educational inequality and fostering socio-economic development globally.
