Kidzink Co-founders Paolo and Charlotte Borghesi, along with Kidzink employee number 1 – Syam Prasad

The entire Kidzink team were celebrating this week, having been recognised as award winning innovators!  The annual Fast Company Middle East Innovation Awards saw Kidzink presented with the award for The Most Innovative Company in Education in the Middle East.

This very special award was accepted by Kidzink Founders Charlotte and Paolo Borghesi, together with Kidzink’s longest serving employee, Finance Director Syama Prasad.  The presentation was made at an evening reception held at Dubai Internet City.  Winners in other categories included globally known businesses such as KPMG, Loreal, Masdar City and Saatchi& Saatchi.

Speaking of her delight in receiving the award, Kidzink Founder and Creative Director, Charlotte Borghesi, had this to say;

“There are many, many reasons this award is important to me.  First, and most importantly, I see it as recognition of the incredible team we have at Kidzink.  Our people are endlessly creative, hard-working and dedicated to creating the very best learning environments in the world.  Innovation isn’t something that happens once in a while at Kidzink, innovation is embedded into our culture and daily work.  This award tells me that people outside of our business see just how important innovation is to us.

“To be recognised as innovators in the field of education means so much to everyone at Kidzink.  Kidzink is a completely one of a kind…a vertically integrated architectural design and furniture manufacturing design company which is 100% focused on the Education Sector. We work strategically with design to create high quality schools and spaces and innovative, yet safe and functional furniture.

“Lastly, I would say that this award represents our innovations to date, but…watch this space!  We are working on many new initiatives, all designed to better serve the world of education.  For example, we have just launched a sister company to Kidzink, Koda.  Koda is an architectural practice dedicated entirely to schools and education settings.  Who knows, maybe we’ll see Koda winning this award next year!”.

The award for the Most Innovative Companies in Education asked entrants to describe ideas for new innovations, but also to evidence the impact of their innovative ways of working.  Kidzink’s co-Founder and COO, Paolo Borghesi, highlighted this point, saying he was immensely proud of the impact Kidzink’s work.

Paolo went on to comment,

“Innovation is about creating new thoughts, new ideas and then actioning impactful change.  Our vision is to make amazing spaces for learning by designing buildings and furniture that empowers this process by motivating children and teachers alike.

“We are proud to say that we have undertaken more than 450 projects for schools around the globe.  I estimate that this means we have touched the lives of nearly half a million students!  Each time we complete a new project, we cycle what we have learnt back into our future innovations.  Innovation is vital for the world of education, and vital for Kidzink, too.

“Kidzink is homegrown success story, a business born and now thriving in the unique operating environment that is the UAE.  We owe much of our success to the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship that the UAE government has cultivated.  The education market in the UAE is one of the most exciting in the world, and we find continual inspiration and new innovations in the many schools we are proud to call our partners”.
